My name is Andreas Stamos and my descent is from Ancient Olympia where I was born.

I was working as a taxi driver firstly downtown in Athens and later in my birthplace (Ancient Olympia) where I continue to do this job till today. Working as a taxi driver is not for me only a job to earn my living .It’s more than this.

The particular job gives me the chance to meet foreign people and talk to them as I can speak English. Moreover, I like narrating them the history of my birthplace as exactly I was taught it at school.

I got married in Olympia in 2007 and I live with my wife and son, in the capital city where Olympic spirit was born.

My car is a new Mercedes E 220. So, if you are to come in this beautiful and full of historical monuments place, don’t hesitate to contact with me in order to have a comfortable trip with my taxi car.

About Ancient Olympia

Olympia (Greek: Ολυμπία Olympía), a sanctuary of ancient Greece in Elis, is known for having been the site of the Olympic Games in classical times, comparable in importance to the Pythian Games held in Delphi. Both games were held every Olympiad (i.e. every four years), the Olympic Games dating back possibly further than 776 BC. In 394 AD, (after exactly 1170 years) emperor Theodosius I abolished them as they were then considered reminiscent of paganism. The first olympic games were in Olympia in honor of Zeus.
